Abstract

Pre-eclampsia is a condition that complicates 5 to 8% of all pregnancies and is responsible for many complications involving maternal fetal outcomes. Subacute spontaneous subdural hematoma is a rare complication of pre-eclampsia especially in the absence of HELLP syndrome. Here we report the case of a 25-yearold woman with no prenatal consultation, who had severe preeclampsia complicating a 37-weeks-old pregnancy. Her condition worsened with a degradation of the state of consciousness of our patient 24 hours after admission at maternity unit. She was transferred to the intensive care unit of teaching hospital of Bouake. A brain computerized tomography (CT) scan revealed a right-sided subacute subdural haematoma requiring emergency intervention with a good postoperative outcome.
