About Dental Anatomy
Dental anatomy is a field of anatomy which deals with the morphology of teeth, their location, position, and relationships without the use of a microscope. It includes development, appearance, and classification of teeth. Dental science is a branch of medicine that is involved in the study, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of different disorders as well as diseases of dental region. It will mainly focus on structure, development and abnormalities of the teeth. A medical practitioner who is dealing dental science called dentists. Oral health mainly deals with health of teeth and all oral parts. It mainly focuses to prevent dental problems, most commonly, dental cavities, gingivitis, periodontal diseases and bad breath. There are also oral pathologic conditions in which good oral health is required for healing and regeneration of the oral tissues. Dental caries are the tooth decay or cavities due to breakdown of teeth as a result of bacterial activity. The colour of the infected teeth varies from yellow to black. Upon ignorance at initial stage, may lead to inflammation of tissue around the teeth, tooth loss and abscesses formation.
