Biography

Dr. Anton G. Endress is a Professor of Environmental Stress Physiology in the UIUC Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences. Prof. Endress holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Duquesne University and the University of Iowa respectively. Prof. Endress earned his PhD from University of Iowa in 1974. Prior to his arrival at the University of Illinois, Endress held academic positions with the Departments of Biology and Botany and Plant Sciences and the Statewide Air Pollution Center, all units of the University of California at Riverside. Other former positions include the University of Dubuque (Iowa) and Illinois Department of Energy and Natural Resources. Air pollutant-plant interactions, herbivory, plant invasion biology, restoration ecology, global change, and landscape dynamics are among his primary research and teaching interests. He has been professionally associated with several research societies namely: Southern Appalachia Botanical Society, Society for Ecological Restoration International, Natural Areas Association, International Association of Environmental Botanists, Illinois State Academy of Science, Illinois Native Plant Society, American Institute of Biological Sciences
