Biography

Dr. Madaio is Professor of Medicine at Augusta University. He was appointed as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. He is a graduate of Fairfield University and Albany Medical College. He has an active laboratory focused on immunologic mechanisms of renal disease and has been funded by the NIH for over 25 years. In 2005 he received the Lady Barbara Colyton Prize for Autoimmune Research from the University of Pennsylvania. His laboratory is currently pursuing novel mechanisms of targeting drug delivery to the kidney to treat ongoing inflammation, and development of novel imaging techniques to assess kidney function. Madaio is a member of the Richmond County Medical Society, the American Society of Clinical Investigation and the Association of Professors of Medicine, and he currently serves on the nominating and research committees of the APM.

Research Interest

Novel mechanisms of targeting drug delivery to the kidney to treat ongoing inflammation, and development of novel imaging techniques to assess kidney function.
