Smoking, the most common forms of recreational drug use, involves the burning of substance and the absorption of the resultant smoke in to blood stream. Most commonly used substance is tobacco and it’s the most popular form practiced by people globally. Nicotine is the addictive drug in tobacco smoke that causes smokers to continue to smoke. Addicted smokers need enough nicotine over a day to ‘feel normal’ – to satisfy cravings or control their mood. How much nicotine a smoker needs determines how much smoke they are likely to inhale, no matter what type of cigarette they smoke. Along with nicotine, smokers inhale about 7,000 other chemicals in cigarette smoke. Many of these chemicals come from burning tobacco leaf. Smoking harms nearly every organ of the body. When using a hookah pipe, you’re likely to inhale more smoke than you would from a cigarette. Hookah smoke has many toxic compounds and exposes you to more carbon monoxide than cigarettes do. Hookahs also produce more second-hand smoke. Smoking also increases the risk of lung cancer, mouth cancer, Throat cancer, Kidney cancer, pancreatic cancer, Larynx cancer. In fact smoking increases the risk of stroke by 50%
