Reproductive Biology is the science of study for physiology and development of reproductive system. Reproductive Biology serves the basis for reproductive physiology, immunology, molecular and cellular biology, receptor studies, infertility, endocrinology, assisted reproduction, andrology, embryology and contraception.
Other areas of Reproductive Biology includes pathophysiology of reproduction (e.g. sterility, abnormal pregnancy, and reproductive tract infections), age-associated changes, disorders of the reproductive tract (e.g. peri- and postmenopausal periods, urinary incontinence and other pelvic floor disorders, impact of hormone replacement therapy), reproductive tissue cancer (e.g. prostate, ovary, uterus, cervix, breast), and the impact of environmental and occupational hazards on reproduction.
